Did you ever hear the joke about the author, his book, and his deadline? I know what’s going through your head, because I’ve been there too. You’re thinking, “Uh-oh, is he going to tell us that he can’t make another deadline? What is it with these writer-types? How hard is it to fix a few sentences and get the job done?” As I wrote, I’ve ridden that train of incredulity more than a few times too. Don’t fret, the joke isn’t on you. It is entirely on me.

With less than thirty-two hours to go, I am about forty pages from the end of another round of editing. I’m going to ignore food, family, sleep, and television to complete this for my established Halloween release. You read that correctly. I’ll skip watching TV for this!
